Well, it’s exactly what it sounds like. There is not a single person or organization outside the Kansas City area that has an ownership stake in DMI. Our owners and management are just as involved in the nitty gritty and daily operations of the company as the employees.

Big Changes on the Horizon
2023 is a huge year for us! Not only is it our 20th anniversary, but we will also be switching over to an ESOP structure this year. ESOP stands for “Employee Stock Ownership Plan,” which is a benefit plan that gives our employees ownership stakes in the company. This is a big change, but it’s a change that we feel is necessary. It’s a change that our wonderful employees deserve.
Once again, you might be thinking, “that’s cool, but what does it matter to me, the customer?”

This switch to an ESOP structure encourages our employees to put their best foot forward and give it their all when they’re working, as the company’s continued growth and success translates to more rewards for each person with an ownership stake. Our employees will be more involved with the day-to-day operations of the company than ever before, and they’ll be able to help make decisions that align with both their and your best interests!
